RokuMote Remote (“the app”) is a remote-control app for Roku® devices. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with data. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and we never sell data.
Anonymous usage statistics. The app records basic product events — for example, that a device was connected or a feature was opened — under a random anonymous identifier generated on your device. These events include the app version, iOS version, and device model. They never include your name, email, IP-based location profile, Wi-Fi network name, device names, or anything you watch. Deleting the app resets the identifier; nothing links the new one to the old.
Support conversations. If you contact support chat, the messages you type and basic technical context (app version, connection state, recent technical log lines) are sent to our server so the assistant can help you. Support messages are processed by a large-language-model provider on our behalf. Please don't include personal information in chat messages — it isn't needed to help you.
The app works by talking directly to devices on your home network — your Roku device and, if you set it up, your TV. iOS asks for Local Network permission for exactly this purpose. Remote-control commands travel only inside your network and are not routed through our servers. Pairing credentials for direct TV connections are stored only on your device, in the system keychain.
Usage statistics and support conversations are stored on our own server infrastructure. We keep them only as long as they are useful for improving the app and resolving support cases, and we do not sell or share them with third parties for their own purposes.
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
